The Laboratory of Education Policy, Economics and Lifelong Learning participates in the  Inter-University Master Program “Higher Education Policy: Theory and Praxis”. More specifically:

Aims and objectives

The objective of the MSc is higher education. More specifically, higher education as a social institution and as a field for the development and implementation of policies at national, European and international level and higher education policy as an independent scientific discipline of educational policy and the sciences of education. The choice of higher education as the subject of the MSc should be considered self-evident in view of the importance attributed to it today internationally for social, economic, technological and cultural development and progress. This is also the reason why higher education is currently at the centre of attention from both a political and a scientific point of view. Particularly at European level, the creation of the European Higher Education Area as the completion of the Bologna Process is now shaping a new international framework for the operation and development of higher education and is creating increased demands and expectations for the future.

It is in this context that the initiative for the creation of a postgraduate program in Greece focusing on higher education was developed. This is the first postgraduate program with this subject in Greece. While there are postgraduate programs that deal with various elements and aspects of educational policy and the sciences of education in general, there is none that specialises in higher education policy. In this respect, the present initiative aspires to chart a path that is pioneering for Greek standards.

At European level, there are about ten (10) registered postgraduate courses of this kind.
