The online review ACADEMIA was created by the Higher Education Policy Network in 2011. It is an international peer-reviewed review that publishes articles and book reviews from across the field of Higher Education. It is published at the University of Patras with the assistance of the central university library and the Laboratory of Education Policy, Economics and Lifelong Learning.

ACADEMIA is a forum for researchers, educators, students, administrators and policy makers interested in the theory, practices, research and policies related to every aspect of Higher Education. ACADEMIA is an interdisciplinary review which is pleased to welcome articles focusing on Higher Education from a sociological, political, philosophical, historical, pedagogical, educational or administrative and organizational perspective. International and comparative approaches, new ways of analysing and interpreting Higher Education are also welcome.

Academia is a trilingual journal. Articles may be written in English, French or Greek. Articles published have undergone rigorous peer review, after an initial introductory general review by the editor and the editorial committee. Articles are then blind peer-reviewed by two referees, at least one of whom must necessarily be from outside the review’s scientific committee.

ACADEMIA publishes 3-4 issues per year including thematic issues.

Today, Academia is one of the few Greek journals indexed by Scopus (Academia (Greece)), the French HCÉRES, the European repertory ERIH-plus, the largest global network of electronic journals DOAJ and the EBSCO database.
